The Honours Board appeal is now closed.
The Honours Board appeal ran from March 2016 to January 2018. During that time we offered to recognise donations over £250 with an inscription on an oak panel to be installed in the corridor connecting the newly-excavated basement gallery to the cells beneath the Georgian court room.
We were overwhelmed by the support for the appeal from the local community. Over 1,000 people donated to the campaign, for over 1,300 inscriptions recognising their support, raising over £300,000. Supporters added their names, the names of their families, and the names of loved ones in their memory. We are very proud to include these inscriptions in the new St Albans Museum + Gallery for generations to come.
The appeal is now closed while we work hard to produce and install the boards before the new museum is due to open in the summer.
If you donated for an inscription on the Honours Boards we will be in touch soon via email or letter to invite you to be amongst the first to visit the new St Albans Museum + Gallery when it opens in the summer.
If you missed out, there may be a chance to add your name at a later date. Once the museum has opened we will reassess the space available and if possible we will reopen the appeal to new donations.
In the mean time you can add your name to our waiting list, to be the first to know if the appeal reopens. Provide your details below:
*Note we will only contact you with news of the Honours Board appeal in the event that it re-opens. For general updates from us please get in touch here.
