Runners escape from the City’s Georgian cells to compete in the St Albans Half Marathon
St Albans Museums and Galleries Trust is delighted to be one of the two official charities for the 2015 St Albans Half Marathon. The Trust is raising £1.7 million towards the renaissance: St Albans project to create an amazing new museum and gallery in the Georgian Grade II* listed St Albans Town Hall.
Everyone across the district can help create this fantastic museum and gallery by being sponsored for one of the St Albans Half Marathon events. It offers something for everyone of all ages and abilities, with the Half Marathon, Walking Half Marathon, 5k Race and 1.5 Mile Children’s Fun Run.
Annie Brewster, Trustee, said “You can contribute to the new museum and gallery project at the same time as getting fit by just entering or, even better, getting sponsored for your particular race. What a wonderful way for people of all ages to support this City changing project whether you want to walk or run anything from the full Half Marathon distance to 1.5 miles. You do not have to be dressed in convict outfits, although I will be presenting a prize for the most appropriately dressed competitor”.
To participate please sign up for one of the many events on the St Albans Half Marathon web site and then it is easy to start fundraising on the St Albans Museums and Galleries Trust’s BT MyDonate.
