People of St Albans District support match funding campaign

In October 2017 the St Albans Museums and Galleries Trust participated in Localgiving’s Grow Your Tenner campaign, raising £400! The campaign matched one-time donations pound-for-pound up to £10. Help us bag £4000! The St Albans Museums and Galleries Trust is bidding to bag a donation from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative. Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores – being awarded to local community projects. Finnis Scott Foundation grant helps bring fine art to St Albans

A grant from The Finnis Scott Foundation will help transform old servants’ quarters into intimate gallery spaces in St Albans Town Hall. The work is part of a £7.75 million project to transform St Albans’ Grade II* Listed Town Hall into a state-of-the-art new museum and art gallery for all to enjoy. Honours Board appeal reaches over 1000 names.

Over 1,000 names have been added to the Town Hall museum ‘Walk of Fame’ as locals write themselves into St Albans’ history. Local charity the St Albans Museums and Galleries Trust (registered charity no. 1051868) has been running the Honours Boards appeal since March 2016, raising money to fund the new museum and art gallery in St Albans.
