A Series of Activities for Children based around the Ancient Egypt Lives Forever Exhibition

All of these activities take place at the Museum of St Albans except for the Saturday 14th March event which takes place at Verulamium Museum.

Please book in advance, either over the phone on 01727 819340 or calling into the Museum of St Albans. Prices vary and some have a reduction for Young Friends.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tuesday 17th February, 10.30am – 12.30pm: Awesome Afterlife
Find out about the dangerous journey to the Egyptian afterlife and make a brilliant board game based on it. Suitable for 6 – 11 year olds. Cost: £6.00 (£5.00 for Young Friends). Sessions should be booked and paid for in advance.

Wednesday 18th February, 10.30am – 12.30pm: The River Nile
Make a model of this amazing river complete with a crocodile, hippo and boat. Suitable for 6 – 11 year olds. Cost: £6.00 (£5.00 for Young Friends). Sessions should be booked and paid for in advance.

Saturday 14th March 2pm – 4pm: “I love my mummy” Egyptian Badge Making at Verulamium Museum
Drop-in activity for children aged 3 – 11 years. Cost: £1.00. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Monday 13th April 10.30am – 12.30pm: Gruesome Gods
Hear stories about some amazing Egyptian gods and make a card game based on them. Suitable for 6–11 year olds. Cost: £6.00 (£5.00 for Young Friends). Sessions should be booked and paid for in advance.

Wednesday 15th April 10.30am – 12.30pm: Fabulous Pharaohs
Go on a Museum hunt to unlock the identity of a mystery pharaoh and make a souvenir Egyptian mask to take away with you. Cost: £6.00 (£5.00 for Young Friends). Sessions should be booked and paid for in advance.

Thursday 16th April 10.30am – 12.30pm: Soul Houses
Make a brilliant clay model of an Egyptian soul house complete with all the items you would want in the afterlife. Cost: £6.00 (£5.00 for Young Friends). Sessions should be booked and paid for in advance.

Sun 10th May 2pm – 5pm: The Secrets of Tutankhamun’s Tomb
Living History Family Event at the Museum of St Albans. Step back in time to 1922 to meet archaeologist Howard Carter and find out about his amazing new discovery! Free
