St Albans, home of the oldest pub in Britain, one day’s horse ride from London

Ye Olde Fighting Cocks pub in St Albans, the oldest in Britain, is supporting the renaissance: St Albans campaign by hosting a Barbeque fundraiser as part of the St Albans and Harpenden Food and Drink Festival.

Enjoy a glass of fizz, Barbecue, live music and a raffle, with half of the ticket price of £30 being donated to the new museum and gallery project. Find out about the history of beer and more about the project, and how support is growing to help make it happen.

Part of the St Albans story, the pub is the current holder of the oldest pub in England title in the Guinness Book of Records. Its enigmatic past and large beer garden offer an atmospheric setting to enjoy delicious food, traditional beers and ales, tales of cock fighting and secret tunnels.

This evening of food and fundraising is a ticketed event, and tickets can be purchased from Ye Olde Fighting Cocks directly and on 01727 869152.

The pub can be found at the end of Abbey Mill Lane, beside the River Ver.

Hope you can make it.
