The Honours Board appeal ran from March 2016 to January 2018, with a second chance to contribute between June and December 2018.
We offered to recognise donations over £250 with an inscription on an oak panel to be installed in the corridor connecting the newly-excavated basement gallery to the cells beneath the Georgian court room.
We were overwhelmed by the support for the appeal from the local community. Over 1,000 people donated to the campaign, for over 1,400 inscriptions recognising their support, raising over £400,000. Supporters added their names, the names of their families, and the names of loved ones in their memory. We are very proud to include these inscriptions in the St Albans Museum + Gallery for generations to come.
