The Museum of St Albans is flashing back to the 1970s from Saturday 6 September with an exhibition featuring objects, photographs and memories of the time.
Come along and revisit the period at the Hatfield Road museum. Did you put on platform shoes and flares and spend time at the Pioneer Club? Perhaps you enjoyed the annual folk dance day at Gorhambury, with local country dancing expert Mollie Du Cane, or remember seeing the Cattle Market in Drovers Way?
Cllr Annie Brewster, Portfolio Holder for Sports, Leisure and Heritage for St Albans City and District Council, said: “Take a trip down memory lane and pop along to Seventies St Albans. If you were not born until much later, you can discover the decade for the first time and marvel at the clothing and artefacts from the period.”
This fun, fascinating and free exhibition, telling the story of St Albans in the 1970s, runs at the Museum of St Albans until Sunday 28 September. For further information about the exhibition call the museum on 01727 819340.
