The St Albans Town Hall inspires scarf design

Proceeds from the sale of headscarves inspired by the St Albans Town Hall will go towards the new museum and gallery in St Albans.

Artist Annie Hill has created beautiful silk crepe de chine scarfs using exquisite images from a collection of architects’ drawings dated 1823. These designs were for “A Court House and Town Hall in St Albans”. The originals are housed at Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies.

The 12mm silk crepe de chine gives an almost double sided effect and has a wonderful drape. The elegant, classic design is perfect for evening, or scrunched for everyday outfit.

The town hall scarves are approximately 188cm by 60cm, cost £49, and can be bought on the artist’s website here or at The Rug Maker on Verulam Road.
